Week 2: Outline of week: On monday – we carried on with the 3 out of the 4 songs that we have learn which are as follows (love roller coaster) - Ohio players. (immigrant song) - Led zepplin. (dont stop me now) - queen. But in the morning, we were in 205 to do some theory work where we carried on talking about with what research is and what P.E.E.L is we also looked at some references where i took a book to look at for my project proposal.
On tuseday - we had our big practical session of the week at the studio where we do practical work for 3 hours. Where we started to polish up love rollercoaster dont stop me now and immigrant song. We got alot of stuff done so for example we started to speed up love rollercoaster as we are playing the song to slow. I was also playing the drums wrong for immigrant song so we went through that quite abit to make sure i was playing the song properly. We then did a performance at the end of the session where we performed. Immigrant song and don't stop me now.
On wednesday – on Wednesday we only had a hub session today we were going to start all along the watch tower but nobody had learnt it so we decided to carry on polishing off the 3 songs we have already been doing we have pretty much finished love rollercoaster now and almost sorted with immigrant song. We also starteed to do some changes with the dynamics of dont stop me now.
On thursday – we did artists of the week which this week we were on the letter W where we talked about wonder girls which were a k pop group that went from 2007- 2017 we then did a performance at the end of the session but we didnt have one of our singers as eva wasnt in for this session
Problems and issues that appeared: Solutions: On Thursday we were missing one of our singers Our other singer mia had to step up and sing lead vocals on all 3 of ur songs I was playing triplet time for immigrant song Im now playing straight time for immigrant song I was carrying on the drum beat to long in dont stop me now. I now cut the drum beat off faster to go into the bridge of the song
Reflection: This week i heave learnt that i was playing the drum parts slighty wrong in 2 of the songs that we have played so i have reflected onto changing the songs Targets for next week: Learn all along the watch tower for when we come back Keep my theory work up to date.
Week 3: Outline of week:
On tuseday we were at the studio which is in widnes . We have a 3 hour long practical session on tusedays so we ran through our set a few times as this was our first day back, so we all needed a refresh on our setlist. We then started to go through all along the watch tower we had quite a good start on this but one of our guitarists ryan is struggling to learn the song so have only got the first verse and the first instrumental part done. We then did a performance at the end of the session we performed dont stop me now and love rollercoaster we have also decided to add steves lava chicken into the set as abit of fun. We were abit rusty with timeings today as it was the first day back
On wednesday we kept on going with all along the watch tower we got further than we did on tuseday which was good but we need to bget so much further than we are now as we have little time we have.
On thursday we did artists of the week we were on the letter x where we looked at a japnises pop band called x-japan they were sort of a guns and roses like of band and then we did a performance where we performed our whole set list consisting of. Immirgant song. Dont stop me now. Steves lava chicken and all along the watch tower
Problems and issues that appeared: Solutions: We can't do all along the watchtower all the way through as our guitarist Ryan is struggling to learn it Ryan needs to focus and practice on all along the watch tower One of our singers Eva is struggling with the low notes of don't stop me now She is going to use her singing lessons to get better at the low notes One of the guitarists was doubling up the solo on don't stop me now We talked about him harmonising at the end of the solo instead all the way through
Reflection: Get better at the timings on all pf our songs Targets for next week: The transition into a part of don't stop me now Sort out the dynamics of all al;ong the watch tower and the transition into stevs lava chicken.
Week 4: Outline of week:
Monday. On Monday we focused on all along the watch tower for this week including today. Today we were focusing on the last verse and how we end the song as we don't know where to end the song and its far too long. So, we focused on a good place to end the song and then transitioning into a surprise 30 second song (Steves lava chicken) where the last chord gets rung out and i start a count in as that chord is being rung out and then we go into Steves lava chicken. Tuesday.
On Tuesday we were at the studio today where we have a 3 hour long practical session, we spent the majority of this session again going over all along the watchtower focusing on the 3rd verse and then the solo at the end of the song and then again where to end the song. We then spent the last half of the session going over the other songs in our set. Immigrant song, love rollercoaster and don't stop me now. We then did a performance of our whole set Infront of the class we also timed our set, and we came to 15:05.
Wednesday. On Wednesday we didn't have a practical session today, so we did 2 artists of the week being the letter Y and the letter Z. ymgwiwe Malmsten who was a baroque performer, he got described as a virtuoso. Which means he was very full of himself and thinks he's the best in the world. and then we did Zander Zan who uses different techniques when playing bass for examples harmonics and double strumming.
Thursday. On Thursday today we didn't do artist of the week as we did them yesterday so we had a small practice of our set excluding all along the watch tower as the singer who is singing that (Eva) wasn't in so we didn't do that song today as our other singer (mia) didnt know the lyrics we the performed all the songs without all along the watchtower we forgot to time our set this time though.
Problems and issues that appeared: Solutions: Not everyone has learnt all along the watchtower. Everyone needs to learn all along the watchtower. As we don't have very long until the gig now. Ryan snapped his string so that took up half of the rehearsal. Try and play softer to avoid snapping strings and check your strings before you play One of our singers Eva wasn't in today. The other singer mia had to sing all the lead parts on our songs due to eva being ill.
Reflection: I have learnt this week that its important, for everyone in the band to recognise mistakes instead of playing through them stop and play over the same part again to correct the mistake.
Targets for next week: Get the set under 15 mins. Transitions between songs need to be smoother.

Week 5: Outline of week:
Tuesday. On Tuesday we went through the whole setlist a few times and then for one of the guitarists originals which is for his fmp project called (what tomorrow brings) so we spent most of the session just going over his original and sorting out different parts of he song and the backing vocals. We got this done quite quickly so when we had a decent idea of the song we focused on getting it into the set and where would be a good place to fit the song in. So we then all agreed on putting it in the middle of our set just after love rollercoaster and just before all along the watchtower.
Wednesday. Today we also focused on Ryans original and mainly the transitions between all our songs as Ryan needs to switch guitars mid set so we were working on getting the time down as much as we could. And not have silence on stage. This can come in 2 forms so we can either cary the songs on and finish when ryan is ready to start the next one or the singers can introduce our project who each member of the band is and or talk about why ryan has written a song for the fmp.
Thursday. Today wasn't the most productive session as we could only go through the setlist a few times then Liam called our band out to help us on our stage presence but however the pa in the hub broke so we couldn't do what we were suppose to do so liam just shown us videos of what we could do and talked to us all about how we can improve our set. And get the audience involved more and how to talked to the audience in addition to making it look visually pleasing to watch instead of just standing there looking like statues.
Problems and issues that appeared: Solutions: We did not have a session on Monday due to the bank holiday. Practice on the day off to make sure i don't miss a day. Our transitions between songs are far too long We need to work on the transitions to make them shorter
Reflection: This week i have learnt that my bands transitions need to be alot shorter
